Overview:Albendazole is frequently prescribed for the treatment of intestinal and systemic parasitic infections, including: Roundworms (Ascariasis) – Parasitic worms in the intestine that can cause digestive issues.
Indications & Uses:
Hookworms (Ancylostomiasis & Necatoriasis) – Can result in anemia and malnutrition.
Whipworms (Trichuriasis) – Induce gastrointestinal discomfort and diarrhea.
Pinworms (Enterobiasis) – Common in children, causing anal irritation and discomfort.
Tapeworms (Taeniasis & Cysticercosis) – Typically contracted from contaminated food or meat.

For General Intestinal Worm Infections (Roundworms, Hookworms, Whipworms, Pinworms)
Dosage & Administration for Parasite Treatment:Adults & Children over 2 years: 400mg as a single dose (one tablet).
Children under 2 years: 200mg as a single dose (half a tablet). For Tapeworms, Strongyloidiasis & More Severe Infections:
Adults & Children over 2 years: 400mg once daily for 3 days.
A second treatment course may be necessary after 2-3 weeks if reinfection happens. For Hydatid Disease (Echinococcosis):
Adults & Children over 6 years: 400mg twice daily for 28 days, followed by a 14-day break, and repeated for 3 cycles.
Children under 6 years: Dosage to be determined by a doctor. For Liver or Lung Flukes (Clonorchiasis & Paragonimiasis):
400mg twice daily for 3 days. For Giardia (Off-label use in Children):
400mg once daily for 5 days. Take with food – Albendazole is absorbed more effectively when consumed with fatty foods.
Crush or chew if necessary – Can be mixed with food for easier consumption by children.
Follow-up doses might be needed – Consult a healthcare provider for guidance on further treatments.
